Michael Douglas is the son of legendary actor Kirk Douglas and actress Diana Dill. He attended The Allen-Stevenson School in New York City, The Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts, and The Choate Preparatory School (now Choate Rosemary Hall) in Connecticut. Douglas later pursued higher education at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama in 1968.



Career


Michael Douglas began his career in the late 1960s, but it was his role as Inspector Steve Keller in the television series The Streets of San Francisco (1972-1976) that brought him fame. As a producer, Douglas made significant contributions to cinema, winning his first Academy Award for producing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). His major breakthrough as a leading actor came with Romancing the Stone (1984).

Throughout his career, he has delivered iconic performances in films such as Wall Street (1987), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor, Basic Instinct (1992), Fatal Attraction (1987), The Game (1997), and Behind the Candelabra (2013).

Douglas has maintained a successful career in both film and television, appearing in Marvel's Ant-Man (2015) and its sequels.
