Michael Douglas is the son of legendary actor Kirk Douglas and actress Diana Dill. He attended The
Allen-Stevenson School in New York City, The Eaglebrook School in Deerfield,
Massachusetts, and The Choate Preparatory School (now Choate Rosemary Hall) in
Connecticut. Douglas later pursued higher education at the University of
California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Drama in 1968.

Michael Douglas began his career in the late 1960s, but it was his role as Inspector Steve
Keller in the television series The Streets of San Francisco (1972-1976) that
brought him fame. As a producer, Douglas made significant contributions to
cinema, winning his first Academy Award for producing One Flew Over the
Cuckoo's Nest (1975). His major breakthrough as a leading actor came with
Romancing the Stone (1984).
